Last month, we featured Fayetteville Public Library, which has been serving Fayetteville for over 100 years. This month we’re featuring GP Harmon Recycling, LLC.

GP Harmon Recycling was created by Georgia-Pacific. It is a full-service recycling facility in Fayetteville, offering recycling equipment, from mini balers to roll-off style compactors, and on-site plant audits and recycling needs assessments upon request.

The recycling facility also focuses on collaborating with paper mills to reduce structural costs, including freight, inventory, administration, and financial and fixed costs.

GP Harmon’s goal is to stay on top of the latest paper recycling trends. It says that “a successful recycling program takes creativity, flexibility and experience,” which is why it has been at the forefront of the recycling industry for over 40 years.

Each week, GP Harmon trades over 100 thousand tons of recycled fiber. Last year, the company purchased over 5.5 million tons of recycled fiber, which supplied Georgia-Pacific mills with fiber to make the products you use every day.

Because the company has focused on building relationships with its suppliers and customers rather than just on marketing, it has built a collaborative network of trading partners around the world. It currently has partners in over 48 countries.

In 2013, GP Harmon established a location in China called Georgia-Pacific Trading (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. The Chinese marketplace has the largest supply of recovered fiber exports, which gives GP Harmon more expertise by having a physical presence there.

GP Harmon Recycling is located at 1421 East 15th Street in Fayetteville and is open from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

On Time Logistics helps GP Harmon by picking up cardboard bales and paper recycling bins from businesses, schools, and municipalities throughout Northwest Arkansas and delivering to their facility in East Fayetteville.

“On Time Logistics has proven to be a valuable asset to our collection process,” Ted Brumbelow, sourcing representative at GP Harmon, said. “Pickups are as their name indicates: on time. Their staff is quick to respond to an emergency.”

We are happy to help GP Harmon continue being the successful and impactful business that it is!
