We know it just turned November (and that it still feels like September), but we at On Time Logistics are already gearing up for the upcoming holiday shipping season.
All indications are that we will see another record increase in shipping, thanks largely to the annual increase in e-commerce traffic. That’s where you come in!
We are hiring ‘elves’!
We are looking for part-time drivers to work during our peak season November-December. We expect to continue increasing our business after the new year so longer-term contract positions are also likely after the holiday season.
Our last-mile delivery service places us in the position to serve a variety of customers and make an even broader range of deliveries from small packages to large, bulky freight. We need people with box truck experience to help us with these last-mile deliveries throughout Northwest Arkansas and surrounding area. You do not need to have a CDL but you will be required to get a DOT physical and background check.
The bustle of the holiday shipping season will require that our contract truck drivers have some level of flexibility in their schedules but we can guarantee there will be work!
Our other requirements are:
- Clean driving record, or no more than 6 points on your license currently
- A smartphone with e-mail and internet access on a major carrier
- A professional, “business casual” attire
- Strengths and values of flexibility, honesty, problem-solving and efficiency.

Shipping dates for major carriers
Another part of preparing for the holiday shipping season is, well, knowing the shipping deadlines. We strongly urge you to not wait until the last minute to ship gifts or other items. Also be aware that with the influx of packages being transported, that some normal shipments could be delayed.
We wanted to provide a hub of information for the three major carriers: FedEx, UPS and the US Postal Service. You can find their information at the links below:

What are you doing to prepare for the holiday season? We know it seems early, but we also love the idea of getting all the work out of the way so the holidays are carefree and fun. We look forward to being a part of making the holidays better for customers in Northwest Arkansas and Tulsa.
